Buyers should approve placement, shrinkage, stitch route, corners, joins, pressing, and packing on a finished sample.
Treat decorative trim as a separate engineered component. Match it to the face fabric by shrinkage, weight, color, care route, and sewing behavior, then approve exact placement and corner construction on the final curtain sample.
The RFQ should identify trim type, fiber, width, thickness, backing, color reference, repeat direction, and supplier source. For a contrast border, state the visible finished width rather than only the cut width. Custom programs should be reviewed through OEM curtain support before sample sewing.
State the trim position from the finished side, leading edge, bottom hem, or top heading. Mark whether the measurement is to the trim edge or centerline. For curtain pairs, define whether placement should mirror left and right panels.
Face fabric and trim may shrink, stretch, or react to steam differently. A rigid tape on a soft sheer can distort the panel, while a heavy border can change drape and carton recovery. Test the intended care method and pressing temperature before approval.
Mitred corners, folded corners, butt joins, hidden joins, topstitching, blind stitching, and adhesive support create different appearances and labor costs. The sample should show where joins are allowed and how thread color and stitch density are controlled.
Review the sample both installed and after the proposed packing cycle. Check straightness, puckering, twisting, shade, corner shape, pair matching, loose ends, pressing marks, and whether the trim imprints the face fabric during compression.
