Curtain Sample Approval Checklist Before Bulk Orders

Curtain buyers often lose time after sample approval because different teams approve different things. The merchandiser may approve fabric color, the buyer may approve target price, and the installer may later reject the finished heading or drop. A stronger approval process turns one sample into a clear production reference for fabric, sewing, accessories, and packaging.

Sourcing Snapshot

This page helps importers, wholesalers, distributors, private-label brands, retailers, and project buyers evaluate curtain sample approval checklist before bulk orders by comparing sample scope, fabric quality, finished size, sewing details, packaging proof, and approval timing.

Use it to prepare a clearer RFQ, request matching samples, and compare supplier evidence before bulk production.

Approve the Right Sample Stage

Not every sample answers the same question. Fabric swatches confirm handfeel, weave, and color direction. Lab dips or strike-offs help with color matching. Finished curtain samples show heading shape, fullness, sewing quality, and overall presentation. Buyers should state which stage is being approved and what still remains open.

Lock Finished Size and Tolerance

Bulk claims often start with size mismatch, not fabric defects. Your sample approval should show finished width, finished drop, panel quantity, hemming method, and tolerance. If the project uses different room types or retail pack sizes, each approved sample must be tied to the correct size table.

Check Heading, Lining, and Construction Together

A curtain can look correct in flat fabric form but change completely after sewing. Confirm heading style, pleat spacing, eyelet finish, lining attachment, blackout construction, and stitching appearance on the finished sample. If tiebacks, hooks, rings, or tape are included, approve them as part of the same reference.

Review Color Under Real Use Conditions

Sample color should be checked under the lighting that matters for the order. Hotels may compare under room lighting, retail buyers may compare under showroom light, and distributors may need daylight checks. If color continuity matters across several SKUs, note the approved standard and acceptable shade variation in writing.

Do Not Ignore Packaging During Sample Approval

Many buyers approve the curtain first and discuss packaging later, which creates avoidable rework. If the order includes insert cards, barcode labels, carton marks, hanger packs, or private label artwork, attach those approval points to the sample review. Packaging is part of the delivered product, not an afterthought.

Turn Comments Into a Final Approval Record

Sample approval is only useful if the result is easy to reuse. Keep one dated record that lists approved fabric, color, size, heading, accessories, packaging, and any open deviations. Photos help, but a written approval note is what allows the supplier and buyer to judge the bulk order against the same reference.
